K2: Siren of the Himalayas
Watch the trailerRights EnquiryK2: SIREN OF THE HIMALAYAS is a 75-minute FEATURE DOCUMENTARY showing the adventure, peril and serenity of a group’s attempt to climb the world’s most challenging peak. While their summit attempt hangs in the balance, we examine the risks, rewards and deeply personal nature of exploration in an age when there are few blank spots left on the map. Featuring National Geographic’s 2012 Explorer of the Year, Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner and rare footage and still images from the 1909 Duke of Abruzzi expedition, this is the definitive historical piece on K2, tracing the parallels of high altitude exploration over the last century.

K2 isnt inside Himaliyan range, it lies in the Karakarum range of Pakistan, great movie bt director shouldn’t make big mistakes like that, all bigg peaks doesn’t Himaliyan range,
Hi Sohail,
This is Dave Ohlson, the director of “K2 Siren of the Himalayas.” Thanks for bringing this up. K2 is in the Karakoram mountain range. However, the Duke of Abruzzi and others considered the Karakoram to be part of the “Greater Himalaya.” This is mentioned in the narration of the film. I had originally thought of calling it “Siren of the Karakoram,” but since Himalayas has more name recognition and you can argue that one is contained in the other, we went with that. It’s not that I’m bad at geography!
Cheers,
Dave Ohlson
