X-TREME VIDEO was founded by Valérie Martin and Franck Bywalski in 1994. Both individuals came from the action sport industry and identified great potential in providing sport enthusiasts with footage rarely seen on TV.

The company started to sell surfing and snowboarding video, and later broadened its catalogue to, include other extreme sports.
